In the spring of 2016, Greg Pierotti devised and directed the one-act play b more. The play treats the death of Freddie Gray, a black resident of Baltimore, who died in Baltimore City Police custody during an illegal arrest. The play covers only Gray's illegal arrest and death and the activism, street uprisings, and violence that followed in response. The legal aftermath of these events is not represented in this piece. All of the six officers whose negligence and violence clearly contributed to Gray's death were found not guilty of all charges.
