B-more
In the spring of 2016, Greg Pierotti devised and directed a first act of the play B-More. The play treats the subject of the death of Freddie Gray, a black resident of Baltimore, who died in Baltimore City Police custody during an illegal arrest. The first act also covers some of the activism and the street uprisings, as well as the violence that followed in response.
The second act is in development and covers the indictment, hearings and trials of the six officers involved in the arrest, focusing in particular on the trial of van driver Caesar Goodson. The last two trials were cancelled. All officers were found Not Guilty on all charges. Police violence continues to be a source of pain and outrage in the Baltimore community. |
